Funeral Time: November 18th, 2022 Betty Joann Brooking, 86, of Lexington, wife of Jerry Brooking of 67 years, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at Mayfair Manor Nursing Home. Born April 10, 1936 in Brazil, IN to the late John and Helen Hayes Lucas. She worked at Rain and Hail Insurance and was a member of Tate's Creek Christian Church. Betty married Jerry on June 26th 1955 in Bedford, IN. They had two children, a son, Bruce Lee (Kimberly) Brooking of Versailles; one daughter, Lisa Ann Rogers of Lexington; one sister, Nancy Lee (John) Trankovich of Normandy, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Jeremy Alan (Jayla) Brooking of Lexington, Justin Matthew (Brenna) Brooking of Lexington and Jordan Lee (Leslie) Brooking of South Carolina, Crystal Ann Rogers of Lexington; 10 great grandchildren, Harrison, Hadley, Henry and Hale Brooking, Jackson, Jonah, Jace and Chaney Brooking, Brady and Camryn Brooking. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Don Richard Lucas and Claude Allen Lucas. Services will be held at 12:30 Friday at Kerr Brothers - Harrodsburg Road.
