Betty Lou Clark-Whitener Obituary

Betty Clark-Whitener Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, Stonebridge Christian Fellowship, Lake Havasu City, Ariz. LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Betty Lou Clark-Whitener, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in Las Vegas. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be said by the Rev. Richard Tatham. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Mrs. Clark-Whitener was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Muscatine, the daughter of Guy O. and Frances Gertrude Connor. She moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., 36 years ago from Davenport. She was an accomplished vocalist and member of the Morgan Sisters Trio, traveling with the Camel Caravan during WWII, and continued in entertainment throughout her life. She married Kenneth LeRoy Clark in 1947 and had six children. He died in 1987. She then married Walter E. Whitener in 1993. She was the most awesome and inspiring mother that anyone could ever want and will be desperately loved and missed, by everyone that she touched. She is survived by her husband; a son, Matthew L. Clark and wife, Julie, and their daughters, Diane L. Kaufmann and husband, Paul, and Nancy L. Clark and husband, Ed, all of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a brother, John Connor of Iowa; two sisters, Joan Lawrence of Iowa and Patricia Hoeksema of Florida; a sister-in-law, Dianne M. Clark of North Dakota; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy and Seth Bettis, Misti Ackeberg, Ingrid, Edward and Shannon Glomboske and Jayson, Hunter, Joshua, Jordan and Matthew Clark; and 13 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aaron, Meghan, Mackenzie, Gage, Brianna, Zoe, Nathan, Natalie, Tyler, Ava, Nevaeh and Fallon. She was preceded in death by three sons, identical twins Mark S. and David L. Clark and Kent L. Clark.
