Cleo Schomberg LONE TREE, Iowa #45;- Cleo T. Schomberg, 86, of Lone Tree died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Mary in Lone Tree. The Rev. Richard Adam and Parish Life Coordinator Carol Kaalberg will officiate. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the burial a luncheon will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Christian wake service, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree. Memorials may be made to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue. Mr. Schomberg was born on June 3, 1915, in rural Lone Tree, the son of Henry H. and Mary Halligan Schomberg. He married Dorothy M. Kelly on May 24, 1945, in Kinross. He farmed his entire life in the Lone Tree area. He was a very active member of the Church of St. Mary. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching birds and mornings with his friends having coffee. He loved to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Susan Anderson and her husband, Glen, of Bettendorf, Christa Nollenberger and her husband, Karl, of Libertyville, Ill. and Nancy Phillips and her husband, Bill, of Coralville; four sons, John Schomberg and his wife, Linda, of Muscatine, Patrick Schomberg and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Dodge, Donald Schomberg and his wife, Lisa, of Riverside and Paul Schomberg and his wife, Cheryl, of Dubuque; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
