Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, First Presbyterian Church, Wapello. Visitation: noon-8 p.m. today, Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with family present from 6-8 p.m. D. Marilyn Barrick, 79, Wapello, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Wapello Nursing amp; Rehab Center, Wapello. The Rev. James H. Huston will officiate. Burial will be at the Letts Cemetery, Letts. A memorial fund has been established for the First Presbyterian Church, Wapello, and the Hospice of Iowa City. Mrs. Barrick was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Letts, the daughter of Ray and Leona Littrell Schafer. She married Stanley C. Barrick on Aug. 22, 1949, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1982. She graduated from Letts High School in 1944 and then A.I.B. Business School, Davenport. She worked at Parrish Oil, Wapello, prior to her marriage. After her marriage, she was a homemaker. She was a 50-year plus member of First Presbyterian Church, Wapello. She loved music (singing and piano), going for walks, sewing, crocheting and most especially her family. Survivors include two sons, Bill Barrick and wife Kathy and Bob Barrick and wife Gale, all of Wapello; five grandchildren, Jeremy Barrick and Sunshine of Muscatine, Carisa Barrick and Jason Cross of Cedar Rapids, Adam Barrick of Maryland Heights, Mo., Brianne Barrick and Jacob Barrick, both of Wapello; two great-grandchildren, Keaton Barrick and Harmony Barrick, both of Muscatine; a brother, Jim Schafer and wife Brenda of Mundelein, Ill.; and a sister, JoAnn Grosskrueger and wife Herm of Andrew, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Joyce Stedman.
