Powell, Duma Alvey, 90, passed away Mon April 14, 2014. Born in Louisville, KY she was the daughter of the late James and Nellie West Alvey. She was a member for 40 years of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her survivors include one brother, James E. "Bud" Alvey; two sisters, Darlis Manning, and Judy Ballard; two daughters, Diann Trusty, and Karen M. (Dan) Rardin; and two sons, Donald Lee (Shirley) Powell, and William A (Kim) Powell; five grandchildren, Lee A. Powell, Austin Powell, Maggie Powell, Sydney Rardin, and Jolie Rardin; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Henry Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Powell Jr.; one great granddaughter, Savanna Scott; and her special friend of 25 years, Jim Tobbe. A funeral service will be held 2:30pm Fri at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Rd. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Pine Meadows Health Care Activity Fund, 1608 Hill Rise Dr. Lexington, KY. 40504
