EDITH C. GREMMEL MUSCATINE, Iowa - Edith C. Gremmel, 93, of Muscatine, died Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mathias Church. The Reverend John P. Gallagher will officiate. Pallbearers will be Todd Easterla, Nathan Schmidt, Cory Easterla, Alex Easterla, Brady Schmidt and J. William Mark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cassie Schmidt and Gavin Schmidt. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a Rosary Prayer Service at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for Mrs. Gremmel at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Mrs. Gremmel was born on August 29, 1910, in Muscatine, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Neff Whitman. She married Wilbur H. "Red" Gremmel on May 26, 1941, in Muscatine. She was a member of St. Mathias Church. She owned and operated with her husband the E. Herm Gremmel Wholesale Distributing Company where she was the bookkeeper. Survivors include one daughter, Kay A. Easterla, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Kimberly Schmidt, of Mingo and Todd Easterla, of Muscatine; five great grandchildren, Cory Easterla, Alex Easterla, Brady Schmidt, Cassie Schmidt and Gavin Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1993, and three sisters and one brother.
