Evalyn M. Rieke MUSCATINE, Iowa -Evalyn M. Rieke, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Honorary Casket bearers will be Dalton Lissy, Drake Lissy and Kristin Shiflet. Casket bearers will be Ryan Rieke, Todd Shiflet, Dylan Lissy, Todd Lissy, Craig Shiflet and Sue Burke. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society in memory of Evalyn. Evalyn was born on February 25, 1926, in Muscatine, the daughter of William T. and Eva M. Holliday Harkey. On November 26, 1944, Evalyn married Gerald L. Rieke Sr. in Muscatine. Evalyn was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and The Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed Christmas time, dog sitting but most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Evalyn will be deeply missed by her children, Gerald Joe
