Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, funeral home. Frieda F. Glaser, 92, a resident of Hein Manor, Durant, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scott will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Deb Mohr and vocalists, Mike and Kay Hein and Henry Bentley. Casket bearers are Mike Hein, Dale Maurer, Mark Miller, Ken Glaser, Rick Hansen and Adam Maurer. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery, Durant. Memorials may be made to the Durant Ambulance Service. Mrs. Glaser was born April 30, 1913, in Cedar County, the daughter of Peter and Laura Busch Schorr. She married Albert H. Glaser on Sept. 27, 1933, in Cedar County. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 2003. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1932. She and her husband farmed in Cedar County until their retirement in 1967. She was a member of the Durant Garden Club, Durant Senior Citizens and the Golden Anniversary Club. She loved gardening, especially her flowers. She was an excellent cook and was known for her pies and cakes, all made from scratch. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Hein and husband Leo of Durant; a son, Robert Glaser and wife Judy of Bennett; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Krebs of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Margaret Lamp and Clara Mordhorst.
