GARY MOODY MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gary D. Moody, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at All-American Care Center. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com Gary was born on December 9, 1936, in Woodhull, Illinois, the son of John and June E. Peterson Moody. He married Nancy L. O'Leary on November 23, 1957, at the St. Mary's Church in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2002. He was a member of the Air Force National Guard. He was self-employed, owning and operating Moody Heating and Air Conditioning. Gary made feather golf balls and enjoyed going to the Master's delivering the balls to several of the pros. Several celebrities' have Gary's custom made golf balls including Former Presidents George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, and also Chef Emeril Lagasse. He enjoyed tinkering and was a fixer of all things. Gary was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching them, golf, and Monday night football with his good friend and brother-in-law Lee Miller. He also treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Dan Moody and Matt Moody and wife, Mandy, all of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren, Luke, Nate, Sami, Johnny, Abby, Lizz, Cameron, Lauren, Brad, Kaden, and Nathaniel; one great-granddaughter, Cora; his siblings, Jack Moody and wife, Carol, of Loveland, Colorado, Chuck Moody and wife, Ann, of Muscatine; and Susie Carter of Lake Frederick, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Lisa Michelle Moody; one grandson, Drake Ronald Moody; and one sister, Mary Kurriger.
