HOWARD JONES MUSCATINE, Iowa - Howard T. "Bow Tie" Jones, 90, formerly of 2004 Crestline Drive, died Sunday, December 2, 2001, at Unity Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Spangler and Dr. Pamela Saturnia will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dennis Tripp, Robert Vetter, Ralph Jackson, Jack Rigler, Gary Meerdink, and Bernie Bartholow. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jones was born on Sept 10, 1911, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Moses and Jessie Trimble Jones. He married Marjorie Webb on September 14, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge No. 304, and the Muscatine Quarterback Club. He was a drafting supervisor for Stanley Consultants for 24 years retiring September 30, 1976. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Jones and his wife, Carilee, of Muscatine; four grandsons, Adam Jones, Christopher Jones, Eric Petersen and Kurtis Petersen; and a sister, Hazel Stickler of Paxton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1999, one daughter, Linda J. Petersen in 1996, one sister and one brother.
