John Vorwerk SAN JOSE, Calif. #45;- John Vorwerk, 69, San Jose, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at his home. No formal services are being held. His ashes will be spread on San Francisco Bay in a ceremony on Dec. 9. Mr. Vorwerk was born Feb. 9, 1936, the son of Frank A. and Betty Harker Vorwerk. He married Hiroko Doi in 1956 in Japan. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School and earned a Master's Degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska. He retired as a First Lieutenant from the U.S. Navy, having served in the Submarine Service. He then worked as an electrical engineer for Lockheed Corp. and National Semi Conductor until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, for many years playing each morning before work. He also enjoyed bowling, especially with his wife. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed times together with them. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale and wife Lanida of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a daughter, Margaret Brown and husband Dale; two grandsons; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
