Funeral Time: January 20th, 2019 BREWER, Kenneth Edward, 68, husband of C. Sue Edwards Brewer, passed away Jan 16, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center with his family at his side. Born Nov. 24, 1950 in Winchester, KY, he was the son of the late Clay and Lois Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a graduate of Clark County High School and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Brewer retired after 17 years of service with IBM, being located in both Austin, TX and Lexington, KY, and recently retired after 8 years of employment with the U.S. Postal Service in San Antonio, TX. He was a talented woodworker and "jack of all trades". Mostly, he will be remembered as a wonderful and loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, and a loving family member to many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Survivors other than his wife, C. Sue Brewer, whom he married in November 1979, despite her being from North of the Mason Dixon Line include two children: Rebecca Brewer Grohman and David S. Brewer; two grandchildren, Bryson C. Hearn and Luke R. Grohman; three sisters, Kay (Marvin) Mack, Judy Brewer (Blake) Collins and Kimberly (Mark) Miller; and a brother, Chris Brewer. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sun., Jan. 20, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Ronnie Hupp. Burial will take place 10 am Mon., Jan. 21 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 pm Sun. until the service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army, 736 W. Main St. Lexington, KY 40508.
