Norman Robert Maurer WILTON, Iowa--Norman Robert Maurer, 86, of Wilton, died on Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Wilton Retirement Community. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, with a Masonic Service at 7:15 p.m., performed by the Wilton Lodge. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the church service at the church. Norman was born October 12, 1928, in Wilton, the son of Fred and Lulu Beinke Maurer. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1946. Norman married Mary Ann Schafnit on December 21, 1952, in Wilton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Norman was a lifetime farmer in Muscatine County. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wilton, Wilton Masonic Lodge #167 AF & AM, Order of Eastern Star and Wilton American Legion Post #584. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Ann Maurer of Wilton; his daughter, Deanna and Douglas Hora; his sons, Gary and Caryl Maurer and Dale and Mary Maurer; seven grandchildren, Adam and Lizabeth Maurer, Bradley Maurer, Marcus and Andrea Hora, Caitlin Hora, Camille Maurer, Madeline Maurer and Grant Maurer; and two great-grandchildren, Gage and Bryson Maurer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
