SANDRA 'SANDY' ERNST MUSCATINE, Iowa - Sandra 'Sandy' A. Ernst, 74, of Muscatine, formerly of New Boston, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at All-American Care Center. Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015, in Greenwood Cemetery. Reverend Gary MacManus of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Jake Ernst, Jackie Brown, Joe Bryant, and Jake Elliott. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the New Boston Ambulance. 'Sandy' was born on January 26, 1940, in Muscatine, the daughter of Willis and Norma Hetzler Richman. She married Robert Ernst on June 13, 1959, in Algona. She had worked for Farm Mutual Insurance and Pierce King Architect. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, and camping, and loved to cook and spend time with the family and grandchildren. She will be especially missed by her dog, Herky. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Robert Ernst of Muscatine; one son, Jeff Ernst and Rita Retherford, of New Boston, Illinois; two daughters, Jean Schroeder and husband, Dan, and JoAnne Terrill and husband, Rod, all of New Boston, Illinois; five grandchildren, Heidi, Heather, Holly, Hannah, and Jake; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Richman of Fort Madison; one sister, Carole Gordon of Muscatine; a special aunt, Dorothy Hetzler of Muscatine; and good friends, Mike and Vicki Fish.
